Forget today's definition of independent film, this is a real arthouse film from the 90s, before computers made everyone a filmmaker and everything look too damn slick. Jon Moritsugu's dirty, sloppy masterpiece of weirdness, Modfuck Explosion is a twisted combination of West Side Story and Quadrophenia, where demented Asian bikers face off against prissy mods to the disgust of London and her androgynous love interest, M-16. Features incest, pills, noise, tight leather, dirty bathtubs, hundreds of pounds of rotting meat, a questionable plot and everything else that is awesome. Features footage of Secret Society Scooter Club, great for "what the hell is that movie?" background imagery at bike nights, rallies, parties, etc. Features music from DC indie pop gods Unrest and (proto-Teengenerate) American Soul Spiders, Barbara Manning and SF Seals, plus Dixieland, and Karyo Tengoku.. Oh my god you guys, the soundtrack was on white vinyl and it's incredible, but sadly it's long out of print. DVD, 67 minutes, plus 12 minutes of bonus features. All-regions, NTSC. Originally shot on 16mm The word "Fuck" in the title sort of gives you the idea of what the rating would be, if it had one. Price includes shipping to continental U.S.
